Price per yard (PPY) is what you pay for each cubic yard of waste removed. Because it works the same for any container size or schedule, it's the fairest way to compare stores.

- Open the store and click Price Per Yard.
- If the store has more than one service, choose one in the Service box. Each service is priced on its own.
- Read the headline number. For roll-offs and compactors it's the Full PPY.
- Scroll down to Market Comparison to see how you compare with your other stores that use the same type of container, stores in your state, and the benchmark.
Roll-offs: Haul PPY vs Full PPY
- Haul PPY: the per-yard cost of the haul charge alone, not counting disposal, rental or fees.
- Full PPY: everything you pay per yard, including haul, disposal or tonnage, rental, fuel and environmental, and other fees. This is the number compared with the benchmark.
- The All-in monthly cost rows show every charge that makes up the total.
Compactors
- Operating PPY: the per-yard cost of the service, not counting the compactor rental.
- Rental PPY: the compactor rental spread over the yards hauled.
- Full PPY: everything together. It needs the monthly rental on record. Enter $0 if you own the compactor.
- Billed disposal yards are higher than the container size because a compactor squeezes the waste.
