Plain-English meanings of the words you'll see in Integra Waste Intelligence. The same definitions appear when you hover over an (i) icon in the app.
- PPY (price per yard)
- What you pay for each cubic yard of waste removed. It lets you compare stores with different container sizes.
- Haul PPY
- For roll-offs: the per-yard cost of the haul charge alone, not counting disposal, rental or fees.
- Full PPY
- Everything you pay per yard: haul, disposal or tonnage, rental, fuel and environmental, and other fees. This is the number compared with the benchmark.
- Operating PPY
- For compactors: the per-yard cost of the service, not counting the compactor rental.
- Rental PPY
- For compactors: the compactor rental spread over the yards hauled.
- Physical container volume
- The size of the container times how often it is emptied.
- Billed disposal yards
- The yards the hauler charges disposal on. For a compactor this is higher than the container size because the waste is compressed.
- Benchmark
- The typical per-yard price for the same type of container in Integra's data.
- Whole location (all services)
- All services at a store combined, per yard.
- Front load
- A dumpster emptied on a schedule by a truck that lifts it from the front.
- Roll-off
- A large open container that the hauler pulls away to empty, often on call.
- Compactor
- A machine that squeezes waste into a container so it holds more. It's usually rented from the hauler.
- Notice period / notice deadline
- How many days before the end date you must tell the hauler you're cancelling. The notice deadline is the last day to do it.
- Auto-renewal
- The agreement renews by itself unless you give notice in time.
- Escalator
- A yearly price increase the agreement allows, and its limit.
- Realized savings
- Savings confirmed by comparing your bills before and after a change.
- Open opportunity
- A savings idea that hasn't been acted on yet.
- Overcharge
- A charge on a bill that is higher than the agreement allows.
